Abstract: The idea of medicine and food homology is be long-existing in China and the idea will be accepted by the world with the attention paid by the state to the development of the Chinese medicine industry into the world. In this paper, we reviewed the origin, application status and development prospect of edible homologous culture, and summarized the impact of various links such as quality standards, testing methods, enterprises and laws and regulations on edible homologous products. The corresponding countermeasures were put forward as to the problems, that is, develop a sound quality standards, using a variety of testing methods, emphasis on scientific research innovation, and strengthen supervision and management to promote the development of Chinese medicine and food homologous industry.
