Abstract: Objective To investigate the miR-30a expression in epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)and its relationship with the clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods The miR-30a expressions in 139 cases of EOC tissues were detected with RT-PCR assay. The correlations between miR-30a expressions and clinicopathological features of EOC were analyzed. Survival curves for patients with different miR-30a expressions were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank test. Results The miR-30a expressions elevated significantly in EOC tissues compared with that in adjacent normal tissues(P<0.05). High miR-30a expressions significantly correlated with lower histological grade, lymph node metastasis, peritoneal metastasis and higher FIGO stage(P<0.05). Kaplan-Meier analysis with log-rank test revealed that high miR-30a expressions were correlated with short survival time of patients with EOC. Multivariate analysis showed that miR-30a expressions were an independent rognostic factor for the overall survival, HR=2.702. Conclusion The miR-30a expression is an independent prognostic factor of patients with EOC,which can serve as a diagnostic and prognostic marker in clinical practice.
