Abstract: Objective To understand the current status and influencing factors of the individuals' knowledge, attitude and practice on students' myopia, who are the family heads of primary school students in Baoding City, so as to formulate effective intervention measures for family heads on myopia knowledge and behavior, and provide a strong basis for reducing and preventing myopia in children and adolescents. Methods Using the stratified cluster random sampling method, 766 family heads of students from grades 1 to 6 in a primary school in Baoding were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey. Results The total correct rate of pupils' family heads with eye hygiene-related knowledge was 64.90%. The older the family heads were, the more likely they had knowledge on the children' myopia, the more likely they were to supervise the children' healthy eye use(P=0.027, OR=0.169). Conclusion Health education should be provided to parents of students through multiple channels, and a family-based first line of defense should be constructed to control and prevent the occurrence and development of myopia in primary school students.
