Abstract: Objective To understand the domestic international classification of diseases(ICD)research situation in the past 30 years from different perspectives such as authors, journals, research institutions, and keywords to provide references for scientific research and medical workers to better carry out research in this field in the future. Methods Using the ICD research papers included in the CNKI database from 1990 to 2020 as the data source, using Citespace software as the main source, and EXCEL as a supplement, the authors, journals, publishing organizations, and keyword clustering of related literature were analyzed. Results The overall trend of ICD research was on the rise, but the author's cooperation and institutional cooperation were less connected. The characteristics of research hotspots in different periods were more significant. Research hotspots mainly focused on ICD-10, ICD-9-CM-3, medical record homepage, medical record management, disease diagnosis, etc. Conclusion In recent years, research in the field of ICD tends to grow steadily, with a high degree of specialization; the research fields are relatively concentrated, but lack of integrity, and the research cooperation institutions are relatively limited. The next breakthrough in research depth and cooperation will promote the development of domestic ICD.
