Abstract: Objective To deeply understand the experience of senior nursing staffs for dementia care in China and provide a basis for the targeted intervention implementation of dementia care. Methods From August to September 2021, 7 senior nursing staffs in a nursing home in Baoding selected with Colaizz-7 analysis methods were applied in the data analysis. Results Three topics and ten subtopics were obtained with analysis: Stress and Challenges(communication barriers, heavy burden, risk of injury), Adjustment and Adaptation(changing attitudes, life sharing, discovery value, clever communication strategies)and Support and Expectation(emotional support, educational support, social expectation). Conclusion The experience of nursing staffs is multi-dimensional, with the heavy care burden and great psychological pressure, but those nursing staffs have a sense of person-centered belief and the good communication literacy. The results of this study may provide a reference for the implementation of a dementia care competency intervention and training course.
