Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effects of the use of digital orthopaedic technology for teaching in orthopedics of Chinese Wedicine. Methods 60 residents who had joined the standardized training were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups which were consisted of 30 people respectively. Traditional teaching method was utilized in control group, while the experimental group was taught by combining with 3D printing model and virtual simulation technology. Satisfaction questionnaire and clinical test were used to comprehensively evaluate the teaching effects. Results The experimental group behaved better than the control group students both in satisfaction survey and clinical test, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The novel teaching approach integrated conventional teaching method with 3D printing and virtual simulation technology could enhance the interns' understanding of the characteristics of common fracture deformities and the understanding of Chinese medicine bone-setting technique, improve learning initiative and efficiency, thus can promote the quality of internship.
