Investigation on nosocomial infection prevalence rate in in-patients

Abstract: Objective To provide the basis for the prevention and control of nosocomial infection by knowing nosocomial infection prevalence rate and analyzing its affecting factors. Methods The patients were admitted into hospital from 8am, Sept.6 to 8pm, Sept.7 were conducted investigation on infection prevalence rate with a combination of bedside and reference to the case. Results 458 patients were investigated, the actual investigation rate was 96.83%, nosocomial infection prevalence rate was 5.68%. Respiratory infection came ifrst in the affected area. The other ifve departments were ICU, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Neurology 1, Neurology 2. The daily rate of antibiotics use were 44.76%, of which 34.15%were used for active treatment, 13 samples of the patients were examined(18.75%). Conclusion The level of nosocomial prevalence rate meets the demand of the ministry of health. Some steps should be taken to strengthen the test of rate of pathogenic bacteria and drug sensitive in clinical frontline workers , make a rational use of antimicrobial drugs, and prevent the outbreaks of nosocomial infection.
