Abstract: Contrast-induced acute kidney injury(CI-AKI) is one complication of coronary intervention due to the use of contrast medium. Early renal damage caused by contrast medium can be detected through monitoring specific markers. It is important to detect the early renal damage for efficient clinical assessment to provide therapy for contrast-induced nephropathy thus delaying the progression of disease. This article gives an overview of the biomarkers used to detect early renal damage in contrast-induced acute kidney injury.
