Abstract: Objective To explore the application effects of the Case based learning(CBL)teaching method combined with Lecture-based learning(LBL)in teaching blood gas analysis(ABG)with the conventional teaching method as the control. Methods 72 interns of the undergraduate were randomly divided into 2 groups: conventional LBL teaching group(group LBL)and CBL+LBL teaching group(group CBL+LBL)to evaluate the teaching impact of the two teaching methods. Results The CBL+LBL teaching method was more advantageous than the conventional LBL teaching method by the objective scores of the examinations,the subjective self-evaluation of the students and the self-assessment of the teachers. Conclusion The advantages of the good integrity and the combination of the practice and theory in the CBL combined with LBL teaching leave the clinicians more room to play and make the students comprehend and apply better.
