Abstract

Abstract: Traditional Chinese Medicine is the product of the combination of Chinese traditional culture, philosophy and scientific thought with medical practice. Yinyang and Wuxing theories adopt the concept of holism and dialectical mode of thinking to explain the pathogenesis of diseases. In our previous studies, we have investigated the mechanism of cardiovascular diseases using Yinyang and Wuxing theories and modern technology. Our results showed that Chinese medicine theory and modern scientific viewpoint have the common point on the mechanism of heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Under the guidance of Chinese medicine theory, we can further reveal the mechanism of cardiovascular diseases.
