Abstract: Objective To explore the application effect of PDCA cycle management in protective restraint of critically ill patients. Methods A total of 252 patients of Emergency Intensive Care Unit admitted to our hospital from November 27, 2022 to June 23, 2023 were divided into control group and study group according to computer random allocation method, with 126 cases in each group. The control group was given routine protective restraint nursing. Based on the general protective restraint nursing, the study group adopted the protective restraint nursing under the PDCA cycle management model. The appropriate rate of restraint relaxation, the correct rate of restraint limb position, the normal rate of skin at the restraint site and the good blood circulation rate of limb extremities were compared between the two groups. Results The suitable rate of restraint relaxation, the correct rate of restraint limb position, the normal rate of skin at the restraint site, and the good blood circulation rate of limb extremities in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion In protective restraint nursing of critically ill patients, PDCA cycle management mode can effectively improve the suitable rate of restraint relaxation, the correct rate of restraint limb position, the normal rate of skin in the restraint site, and the good blood circulation rate of limb extremities.
