Investigation on KPA about food safety among residents in Baoding

Abstract: Objective To analyze the status of food safety knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and affecting factors of urban residents in Baoding, and provide evidence for the food safety education. Methods 450 residents from Baoding were selected as respondents for the questionnaire survey by Cluster sampling method. The questionnaire was designed with questions about food safety knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and inlfuencing factors. Results The knowledge and behaviors pass rate of the investigated residents were 60.09%and 24.59%. There were statistically signiifcant difference in different groups of cultural level, age, income. The residents' awareness of food safety was better, the conception of the rights protection was seriously poor, and had a urgent need of acquiring the related knowledge. Conclusion The residents of Baoding have a stronger sense of knowledge about food safety but the condition of their attitude and behaviors are not going well. Food safety knowledge should be popularized by the relevant departments, and intervening measures should be taken.
