Related knowledge and demand survey in patients with hyperthyroidism treated with 131I

Abstract: Objective To explore some related knowledge and health education demand in the patients with hyperthyroidism treated with 131I in order to get better health educationMethods Related knowledge and demand survey in 200 patients with hyperthyroidism treated with131I were investigated using the Q & A-Tabular Method. Results The patients with hyperthyroidism knew the main harms and the treatment of hyperthyroidism relatively higher than that of 131I, including the indications, principle of treatment, side effects, and the characteristics of the reatment completely unknown proportion was very low. The lowest was 2.5%, the completely unknown rate was up to 76.5%. Only 10.2% of patients were willing to accept or consider accepting 131I treatment for this method were not understand or misunderstood. Conclsion 131I treatment ratio in Chinese patients with hyperthyroidism is low. We should be publicized through various channels to raise public awareness of131I treatment.
