Investigation on current status of mammary gland hyperplasia and its relevant factors analysis in married women in a workshop of an enterprise

Abstract: Objective To study the prevalence of mammary gland hyperplasia and the relevant factors of female workers in a workshop of an enterprise in Baoding in order to provide an effective basis for the formulation of interventions. Methods The partial female workers in the enterprise workshops were investigated with breast examination and questionnaire. A database was established by using MS ACCESS and a statistical analysis was made by using SPSS19.0 software. Results 1 027 cases of female workers were examined. 411 patients with various types of breast disease were detected with a prevalence rate of 40.02%, 371 of them were diagnosed with mammary gland hyperplasia with a prevalence rate of 36.12% and the constituent ratio of it was 90.27%. The incidence of mammary gland hyperplasia was associated with varies of risk factors, such as old, high body mass index, high cholesterol, no breastfeeding, abortion etc. Breast-feeding and menopause were the protective factors. Conclusion The hyperplasia of mammary gland of female workers of workshop in an enterprise are affected by multiple factors and specific preventive measures should be taken.
