Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical curative effects of acupuncture and reinforcing and reducing methods in treating senile lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods 108 cases of lumbar spinal stenosis were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was given acupuncture and reinforcing and reducing methods with ifliform needle. The control group was only given ifliform needle treatment. During the treatment, the same acupoints were used in 2 groups. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared. Results The total curative rate of the treatment group was 91.1%, the total curative rate of the control group was 69.2%. There was a significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture and reinforcing and reducing methods of ifliform needle treatment is a safe and effective, suitable approach in treating senile lumbar spinal stenosis in clinical practices.
