Abstract: Objective To explore the classic prescriptions of Tibetan medicine for the treatment of Langxiu disease(eczema), and sort out and improve the classic theory of the famous prescription Wuwei Jianghuang ointment which is widely used and has good curative effects, and examines its effects on the eczema mouse model, and analyzes and evaluates its effects on the eczema mouse model, then acute toxic effects on the skin. Methods Fifty BALB/c mice,10 mice were randomly selected as blank group, and the other 40 mice were prepared to model eczema. The mice were sensitized twice with 7% high concentration DNCB acetone olive oil solution, and then stimulated once with 0.5% low concentration DNCB acetone olive oil solution 20 μL. Acute dermatitis such as erythema, edema and exudation of back skin were observed. After successful modeling, 40 eczema mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, which were model group, the hydrocortisone butyrate cream group Wuwei Jianghuang ointment high-dose group and Wuwei Jianghuang ointment low-dose group, with 10 mice in each group. Except the model group, the other 3 groups were treated with corresponding drugs for 36 days, respectively, to determine the drug efficacy. Another 16 New Zealand rabbits were selected and divided into 4 groups by random number table method. Continuous observation went on for 14d, 2 times a day. Results Blind scoring of the back skin of mice in each group found that the high and low dose groups of Wuwei Jianghuang ointment had a good healing effect on the back skin lesions of mice. Compared with the model group, the high-dose and low-dose Wuwei Jianghuang ointment groups and the hydrocortisone butyrate cream group had statistical significance in the skin lesion scores on the 15th and 30th days(P<0.01), and had statistical significance in the ear swelling thickness(P<0.01). And had statistical significance in the spleen index of mice(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the high and lowdose groups of Wuwei Jianghuang ointment and hydrocortisone butyrate cream groups had statistical significance in reducing the serum TNF-α level of mice(P<0.01). There were no statistical significance in decreasing serum IL-6 in mice between the high and low dose groups of Wuwei Jianghuang ointmenthad(P>0.05). Wuwei Jianghuang ointment had no obvious toxicity. Conclusion After the positive control study of Wuwei Jianghuang ointment and hydrocortisone butyrate ointment, the curative effects of Wuwei Jianghuang ointment in the treatment of Langxiu disease(eczema)is confirmed to be second only to hydrocortisone butyrate ointment, and the efficacy of Wuwei Jianghuang ointment in ancient Tibetan medicine books on the treatment of Langxiu disease(eczema)is confirmed too. Wuwei Jianghuang ointment can be used in normal dosage for normal skin and damaged skin.
