Abstract: Objective To explore the changes in the physical health of college students from 2019 to 2020 and make suggestions on the healthy lifestyle of college students. Methods Through researching literature, testing, and mathematical statistics, comparing the physical fitness test results of college students, freshmen to seniors of Hebei University in 2019 and 2020 were surveyed and tested according to the method of Physical Fitness and Health Surveillance of Chinese Students. Results 25 603 participants were tested in 2019, including 10 192 boys and 15 411 girls. In 2020, 32 757 students participated in the test, including 13 308 boys and 19 449 girls. T test results showed that under the epidemic, the BMI index and flexibility of boy students increased(P<0.01); the physical function and strength of boys decreased(P<0.01); the flexibility of girls, upper limb strength increased(P<0.05), speed quality, endurance quality, lower limb strength decreased, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusion From 2019 to 2020, the body shape, physical function, and physical fitness of college students have declined significantly. The physical health of college students changed in 2020. Educational institutions should design post-epidemic sports programs in response to the decline in the physical health of college students to improve their physical health.
