Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of blue light-emitting diodes(LED) to the amount of TNF-αand IL-6 in the serum of liver regeneration rats after partial hepatectomy. Methods 24 Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:Sham group, Model group and LED group. The model was established by partial keratectomy and serum TNF-αand IL-6 levels at different time points were measured with ELISA. Results The levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in every group were increased at 1d after operation, and the levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in the groups of Model and LED were higher than those of in Sham group, but the levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in LED group were higher than those of in Model group (P<0.05). The levels of TNF-αand IL-6 increased gradually and reached a maximum level at 3d post operation in Model and LED group (P<0.05) and revered to normal in Sham group . Conclusion Blue LED can promote liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy, its effect is possibly related with increasing the amount of TNF-αand IL-6.
