Abstract: Objective To discuss the mechanism, time and curative effects in treating secretory ostitis media in children by secretory excision. Methods 78 children admitted into our hospital from July 2010 to July 2012 were selected and diagnosed to be secretory ostitis media because of secretory hypertrophy, among those, 42 received surgery treatment and 36 got non surgery treatment. We compared the treatment effects for those two methods. Results The total efifciency for surgery treatment was 96.62%, and the total efifciency for non surgery treatment was 83.33%, there was great dififdence for the two kind of treatment methods. Conclusion It is beneift for function recovery of eustachian tube, audition improvement after the secretory excision. And the relapse rate is very low, so it is an efifcient method for the treatment of secretory ostitis media in children.
