Research on the inlfuence of psychological intervention on mental state of the elderly patients with lower limb fracture

Abstract: Objective To investigate the intervention effects of psychological intervention in the elderly patients with lower limb fracture. Methods This study was a self-comparative study. Psychological intervention was used in 68 elderly patients with lower limb fracture. Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to compare the anxiety and depression status of the patients at admission and discharge. The states before and after the intervention were compared with the norms. Results The patients with anxiety and depression at discharge were less than at admission, and the differences were significant(P<0.05). The anxiety and depression scores of patients at discharge were better than at admission, and the differences were signiifcant(P<0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention can effectively reduce the anxiety and depression of elderly patients with lower limbs fractures, allowing them to responded well to treatment, and it has great value in clinical application.
