Abstract: Objective To investigate the curative effects of phloroglucin combined with progynova in postmenopausal women with embeded IUDs removal operation. Methods 317 postmenopausal women who experienced 1-3 times failure of IUDs removal operations were randomly divided into three groups. Patients in group A took progynova (2 mg qd) orally, and served it for 5 days before the operation, and then locally injected phloroglucin 40 mg at cervical 2 points, 10 points, 10min before the operation. Patients in group B was only treated with progynova (2 mg qd) orally, and served for 5 days before operation. In group C, we only administered phloroglucin 40 mg at cervical 2 points, 10 points, 10min before the operation. The observation index were the degree of pain and cervical softening degree during the IUD removal operation. Results The cervical softening degree in group A had statistically differences than that in group B and group C respectively (P<0.05). Among the three groups, the degree of pain in group A showed statistically differences than thatin group B and group C(P< 0.05). Conclusion The application of phloroglucin combined with progynova on postmenopausal women during embedded IUDs removal operation can not only improve the cervical softening degree, but also can relieve the pain of patients, and increase the success rate, which is worthy for clinical distribution.
