Abstract: Objective To compare the efficacy and its influencing factors of insulin pump treatment with traditional insulin pump therapy in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Fifty Type 2 diabetic subjects (after OGTT and insulin c-peptide measurement diagnose) were randomized to treat with continuous subcutaneous infusion pump (CSII) and multiple daily insulin injections (MDI), FPG, 0.5 h PG and 2 h PG value was compared between groups before and after treatment respectively. Results There were no significant difference on the FPG and postprandial blood glucose between insulin pump group and the traditional therapy group before admission (P>0.05). Whether the FPG value, pre-dinner blood glucose value, or postprandial blood sugar value, there were not significant difference between the two groups after treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion Insulin pump can simulate human physiological insulin secretion, control the blood glucose level effectively, greatly improve the life quality of patients with diabetes.
