Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical curative effects of Chinese medicine in permeating with intermediate frequency electric current in the treatment of peripheral facial neuroparalysis. Methods 114 cases with peripheral facial neuroparalysis were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The patients in the experimental group (62 cases) were treated with Chinese medicine permeated with intermediate frequency electric current, the controls (52 cases) were treated with acupuncture only. Results After two courses of treatment, the neurological assessment of Sunnybrook Facial Neve Grading System in two groups revealed improvement(P<0.05). The improved rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the controls group(P<0.01). The total improved rate were 96.77%and 82.69%respectively in the experimental group and the controls. There was a signiifcant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion Chinese medicine permeated with intermediate frequency electric current is quite effective in treating peripheral facial neuroparalysis.
