Abstract: Objective To investigate the application effects of case-based learning(CBL)combined with multimedia teaching method and standardized patient and lecture-based learning(LBL)in respiratory noviciate. Methods A total of 84 undergraduate trainees who majored in clinical medicine were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group used CBL multimedia teaching method and standardized patient to teach, however, the control group used LBL to teach. The theory exam scores and satisfaction degrees on arousing their learning interest, promoting their communication and cooperation ability, improving self-study ability, promoting their clinical thinking and analysis ability, increasing learning pressure were observed and compared between two groups. Results The theory exam scores in experimental group were superior to those in control group(P<0.05).The questionnaires surveys showed that the satisfaction degrees on arousing their learning interest, promoting their communication and cooperation ability, improving self-study ability, promoting their clinical thinking and analysis ability in experimental group were superior to those in control group(P<0.05).The questionnaires surveys also showed that there was no statistical significance between the two groups on increasing learning pressure. Conclusion The combination teaching method of CBL and multimedia teaching and standardized patient can improve respiratory teaching quality and increase student's learning interest.
