Abstract: Objective To study the influence of martial arts on students' academic stress. Methods Using the questionnaire survey method, the stressful source of college students in Baoding and the influence of martial arts on college students' academic stress with the stressful source questionnaire of college students and academic stress scale were explored .Results Through the analysis of the sources of stress, the average pressures of college students were obtained, the top three psychological problems were learning problems、 personal development、interpersonal communication. The total average score of the academic task scale of the martial arts group was 64.56±13.57. The total average score of the tension response scale was 41.01±11.22. The total average score of the coping resource scale was( 65.08±17.94). The total average score of the academic task scale in the general sports group was 86.49±13.47. The total average score of the tension response scale was 62.08±15.14. The total average score of the coping resource scale was 75.42±12.20. The total average score of the martial arts group was obviously lower than that of the general sports group, and there was a significant difference between the martial arts group and the general sports group (P<0.01).The related analysis of stressful response, coping resources and academic tasks: there was a clear correlation between stressful response and coping resources and the sub items of academic tasks. The martial arts group took the mental pressure as the dependent variable, and took the academic task and the various sub items of the coping resources as the independent variable to carry out multiple linear stepwise regression analysis. The main factors affecting the psychological tension were task discomfort, task conflict and self care in descending order (The beta values are 0.879, 0.534, -0.153 respectively). In descending order, the main factors affecting the students’ physical tension were task discomfort, the sense of responsibility, the task conflict and the self adjustment (The beta values are 0.451, 0.226, 0.222, -0.068 respectively). Conclusion Martial arts can help relieve the college students' academic stress.
