Abstract: Objective To investigate the training needs of clinical nurses in the second level hospitaland provide reference for making scientific training programs. Methods 1000 copies of questionnaires were conducted intwo medical institutions in the city to investigate the willingness of training, training courses, training time, training methods in the clinical nurses. Results 94.06% of the nurses will require urgent training, different professional titles and different degrees of nursing staffs demand different training contents and methods, specialknowledge, scientific knowledge, medical developments were the top three rows of training courses, training time required in the afternoon, evening and weekend accounted for 76.78%, 69.25% and 62.14% of the total number of valid questionnaires, respectively. 67.97% trainings required in one’s own department, 65.01% wanted to get training in hospital, 61.40% were willing to go out to participate in training in the training class. Conclusion Clinical nurses in two hospitals need urgent training in the knowledge and skills, a long effect mechanism for the training of nurses at different levels should be established to meet the demands according to the level of practical training needsto ensure the effectiveness of training.
