Abstract: Objective To investigate the important nursing measures in repairing the retrograde island flap pedicled with the nutrient vessels of the gastrocnemius nerve. Methods 9 cases of ankle skin defect after VSD patients were given psychological nursing by introducing fiap surgery related knowledge, guided postural training, then we gave them close observation of blood supply of the fiap, strengthened the psychological pain nursing and proper in 72 hours after surgery. Results Seven flaps survived, two cases suffered from partial necrosis. Conclusion Preoperative fully preparation, close observation, psychological care, pain management, and rehabilitation are the keys to the success of sural neurovascular pedicle island flap grafting.
