The comparison between CBL, PBL methods and traditional methods in teaching of clinical genetics

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of CBL, PBL methods in teaching clinical genetics. Methods 60 students majored in clinical medicine of 2013 grade, Second Military Medical University were divided into two groups with 30 students in each group. The students in experimental group were taught with CBL, PBL methods. The students in control group were taught with traditional methods. The teaching effects were evaluated by satisfaction questionnaires and quiz scores. Results The quiz scores of experimental group were better than that of control group. The satisfaction rate to CBL, PBL methods was above 80%. Conclusion Applying CBL, PBL methods in teaching clinical genetics can improve teaching effects significantly, and can better motivate activeness of students’ autonomic learning and promote the binding of theory to practice skills.
