Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status of self-efficacy in rural primipara breastfeeding and analyze its influencing factors and combine its needs to provide direction and advice for clinical nursing intervention. Methods A survey of 80 rural primiparas hospitalized in Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University was conducted using a general data questionnaire and a Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Energy Scale(BSES). Results The total score of self-efficacy of breastfeeding in rural primiparas was 98.01±26.03,which was at the upper-middle level. The age,the success of breastfeeding for her,the attitude of the lover to breastfeeding,and the source of breastfeeding knowledge were statistically significant(P<0.05)in the primipara breastfeeding skill dimension and the inner activity dimension and total score. Conclusion Health care workers need to work together with maternal and maternity family members to take countermeasures to provide maternal breastfeeding knowledge through multiple channels and improve the self-efficacy of rural primipara breastfeeding.
