Abstract: Objective To leam the current situations of residents' health literacy in urban and rural areas in Baoding to offer scientific reference for providing scientific basis for making related policy and strategy. Methods The spot investigation using questionnaire was conducted using the scale of residents having health literacy to collect urban and rural residents ranged from 15 to 79 years old randomly in Baoding by using the multistage sampling method, the influencing factors were evaluated and analyzed. Results We distributed 1020 questionnaires, and recycled 1006 effective questionnaires, the effective recovery rate was 98.63%. The average possession rate of health literacy was 12.10%, the average possession rate of the healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy was the lowest, and accounted for 9.50% respectively among them. Univariate analysis showed that the health literacy was different and the difference was statistically significant in different age, nation, standard of culture, marital status, whether engaged in medical professional, household resident population and average monthly incomes. Logistic regression analysis showed that: The main factors influencing the residents' health literacy were nation, education level and household resident population. The minority cultures are higher than the han nationality in the level of the health literacy, the OR was 5.366. The higher educational level, the higher proportion of health literacy might be, the OR was 1.699. The more of the household resident population, the higher proportion of health literacy might be, the OR was 1.383. Conclusion The urban and rural residents' health literacy rate was low in Baoding, the main factors influencing the residents' health literacy were nation, education level and household resident population, we need to carry out health promotion interventions in this population to improve the level of residents' health literacy.
