Abstract: Objective To explore the mediating effect of nurse practice environment on safety attitude and occupational well-being and give analysis of the role of working environment on safety attitude-occupational well-being. Methods From October to December,2021,cluster sampling was used to select 1 939 nurses from 5 tertiary hospitals in Baoding City as study subjects. The Nursing Work Index-Revised,the revised Chinese version of Safety Attitude Questionnaire(SAQ),and medical workers' occupational well-being scale were used to collect the data through “Question Star” on nurses' practicing environment and safety attitude and occupational well-being and analyze their correlation and mediating effect. Results 1939 nurses had a mean practicing environment score of 68.81±27.79,the mean SAQ score was 111.28±14.38, and the mean occupational well-being score of 62.43±28.17. Nurses' practicing environment and safety attitude, occupational well-being and safety attitude, occupational well-being and nurses' practicing environment were all significantly positively correlated(r=0.626,0.690,0.699,all P <0.05).Both of nurses' practicing environment and safety attitude could significantly predict occupational well-being. The mediating effect of nurses' practicing environment between occupational well-being and safety attitude was 0.268,which accounted for 42.405 percent of the total effect. Conclusion The nurses' practicing environment, safety attitude and occupational well-being of the third-grade hospitals in Baoding are not satisfactory. As part of the intermediary variables, the practice environment indirectly influences the relationship between safety attitudes and occupational well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the nurse's working environment, strengthen the safety attitude, and promote the nurses' occupational happiness.
