Abstract: Objective To study the diagnosis and treating mechanism of Lisfranc injury associated with lateral malleolus fracture. Methods From December 2014 to January 2013 in two hospitals, the curative effects of reduction with internal fixation in all cases with Lisfranc injury associated with lateral malleolus fracture were analyzed retrospectively. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)scoring system was applied in the study. Results The results indicated that after follow-up study for 6 to 24 months(average, 15 months),the treating effects of fracture and dislocation healing were satisfactory in 8 case, with an average of 86 points in AOFAS score. Conclusion In the case of Lisfranc joint injury, the complete reduction and internal fixation of the fracture and dislocation can provide an excellent environment for the healing of the ligament and soft tissue injury. The lateral malleolus fracture associated with Lisfranc injuries is a low incidence of events, its injury mechanism could be caused by indirect force.
