Investigation on maternal health care status and affecting factors among migrant pregnant women in Urumqi

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status of maternal health care utilization for migrant pregnant women in Urumqi. Methods Many outpatient clinics for planned immunization were selected, migrant women with under 3 year children were selected as study objects, a self-designed questionnaire was used to survey their health status during pregnancy. Results 200 migrant pregnant women were selected, the rate of pregnancy registration was 75.0%, the rate of prenatal examination was 86.0%, the rate of adequate prenatal examination was 14.0%. The rate of postpartum visit was 72.0%, the rate of adequate postpartum visit was 39.5%. The education level of migrant pregnant women and their husband, the income of their families were the main influencing factors. conclusion The maternal health care utilization for migrant pregnant women is very low, especially in the low income family and low degree culture of target population. It is necessary to increase the knowledge propaganda dynamics prenatal care.
