Abstract: Objective To observe the effects of extended care on the quality of life of patients with cirrhosis. Methods 76 patients with cirrhosis hospitalized in the Erdao Disrtict People’s Hospital of internal medicine from March 2014 to August 2015 were selected.The cases were randomly divided into experimental group(38 cases)and control group(38 cases).Patients in control group were treated with routine nursing care. Patients in the experimental group were treated with routine care and extended nursing care for 6 months after leaving hospital. By filling out the questionnaire, the relevant data of the two groups of patients in the quality of life, life field, psychological field, the field of independence, environmental field and the field of social relations were compared. Results The quality of life of patients in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group for after their discharge from hospital 6 months(P<0.05).Conclusion Extended nursing care for patients with cirrhosis after discharge can improve the degree of patients’ understanding of the disease, and improve the quality of life.
