Abstract: Basic public health service is an important component of public service, thus the discussion will be surrounded in public participation, which is a part of public health. This thesis explained the deifnitions of public participation and basic public health service, and summarized the reasons of the related problems from the perspective of public cognition, public information and public behavior, which were based on the current situation of public participation in basic public health service. Then, the author addressed some countermeasures against the related problems from the following views:establishing public’s concept of health;media’s proper guidance;promoting government’s credibility;and strengthening the construction of medical institutions.
