Abstract: The increase of fetal cardiothoracic ratio often indicates fetal cardiac insufficiency, the decrease of cardiothoracic ratio indicates compression of the heart, obstruction of venous reflux, and the critical condition of the fetus. A clear prenatal diagnosis is essential for pathogenesis search, prognosis evaluation and intrauterine treatment. Ultrasound as a economic, noninvasive, real-time, convenient technology, has always been the preferred imaging method for prenatal diagnosis of fetuses, but it has many limitations. With the development of technology, MRI can provide more information for the etiological diagnosis and prognosis assessment of abnormal cardiothoracic ratio fetus.
