Abstract: The following causes of knee excessive extension resulted from stroke-induced hemiplegia are analysised in this paper:the poor operation ability of the affected side knee, the increasing tension of lower-limb’s extensor, the proprioceptive (deep sensory) disorder, the unscientific training methods and other factors. Rehabilitation strategies for preventing knee excessive extension are also introduced such as the position of normal limb, delaying the time of restanding, the training of improving the stability of knee, decreasing the lower-limb’s tone and the proprioceptive reeducation. It’s indicated that the scientific and standard training are given at the early stage, we can decrease the incidence rates of knee excessive extension abnormal gait to improve the walking ability.
