Abstract: Objective To explore the expression of SHP-1 gene and c-kit gene in chronic myeloid leukemia and the function in leukemia conversion and prognosis. Methods Semi-quantity reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to examine the respective expression of SHP-1 mRNA and c-kit mRNA in the chronic and acute period of chronic myeloid leukemia and normal controls. Results The expression of SHP-1 mRNA in both the chronic period and acute period was less obvious than that of the normal controls, the difference had statistical signiifcance(P<0.05), but the difference between the chronic period and the acute period had no statistical signiifcance(P>0.05) . The expression of c-kit mRNA in the two periods was more obvious than that of the normal controls, the difference had statistical significance(P<0.05), and the expression in the acute period was more obvious than that in the chronic period, the difference had statistical signiifcance(P<0.05). Conclusion SHP-1 gene and c-kit gene may act as the indicators to judge chronic myeloid leukemia conversion and prognosis.
