Abstract: Objective To investigate the peripheral atherosclerotic disease (PAD) risk classification and plasma β2-microglobulin (β2-microglobulin, β2-MG) high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (H-CRP) of homocysteine (HCY) relationship. Methods From January, 2010 to May, 2013 96 PAD patients were graded and treated in our hospital. According to the ABI value they were divided into: low risk group (0.7≤ABI≤0.9, n=25), medium risk group (0.4≤ABI<0.7, n=52), and the high risk group (ABI<0.4, n=19). 40 healthy persons served as the controls the concentration of β2-microglobulin, high CRP, HCY and their correlation were analyzed. Results The concentration of serumβ2-MG, H-CRP, HCY increased with the ABI stage and the progress, the concentrations were negatively correlated with ABI value with a beta 2-microglobulin H-CRP HCY. Conclusion PAD with the severity of the condition, in the plasma β2-MG H-CRP HCY concentration increased gradually, the joint determination of β2-MG H-CRP HCY and ABI combined with a hierarchical diagnosis and prognosis of patients with PAD is helpful to make sound diagnosis
